Graphic Designer, Martin Gaffney ADVC MIDI is a member of the Institute of Designers in Ireland. He holds an MBA Design Management from the University of Westminster London and an Advanced Diploma from the College of Marketing and Design Dublin.
Martin was a founding partner of Designworks in 1983 and was managing director of Designworks studio in Dublin until June 2009 when he moved from that position to the role of senior brand strategist. As a graphic designer Gaffney takes a creative approach that combines an illustration background with typographic principles, information organisation and design systems - a perpective that balances creativity with insight and clarity helping to solve clients’ challenges and build real connections with people through imaginative visual communications.
A life long interest in traditional Irish and blues music and cultural arts has ensured a steady flow of design project work with like-minded people and organisations.
He now runs ‘space for culture on main street’, an experimental craft, design and art workspace in Killeshandra Co Cavan. Martin splits his time between Designworks Dublin and Killeshandra.
